These questions come up often. You’re welcome to bring others. Transparency and clarity are part of ethical care, and you are not expected to already know how this works.
I take most major insurances.
The best place to start is with a conversation. You are always welcome to reach out by phone or email to ask questions, check your fit, or discuss next steps. You are not obligated to anything by contacting us.
The first session is a conversation. We will talk about what brings you here, what you’re hoping for, and whether this space feels like a good fit. There is no expectation to share everything at once, and you are welcome to set the pace.
Sessions are typically 50 minutes. Frequency is discussed collaboratively and may change over time based on your needs, capacity, and circumstances.
I draw primarily on humanistic and relational traditions, trauma-informed care, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing, among others. These are used as flexible frameworks rather than scripts, always in conversation with your lived experience and goals.
Trauma is understood not only as an individual experience, but as something shaped by relationships, systems, and history. Care is responsive rather than prescriptive.
You do not need certainty to begin. Therapy can be a place to explore whether support is useful, not a commitment you must make upfront.
If it becomes clear that this is not the right space, we will discuss it together. I will do my best to help you consider other options or referrals that may be better aligned.
If you have a question not answered here, that is okay and common. You are welcome to ask it, and you’re not expected to know what to ask.
